Its a piece of video looped with a java script when you scroll over his face. His face is image mapped so when your mouse enters the box the left side triggers one video and the right triggers another. It is flawed though. If you scroll upwards to his chin he should have a different reaction.

On a more serious note. he is just a b****x. Some people just have no manners. It is called being an adult (which frankly a lot of people have still yet to reach).
So no, they don't work.
I find the only way to get noticed is the chatroom. There are so many single guys which probably email all of the ladies, that they don't read a lot of their mail as it is too much.
As I said use the chatroom. Be open, honest, witty. Don't hound any individual/couple. If they are interested they will chat with you and look at your profile. But most importantly don't string anyone along. If you have no intention of meeting, never say you will.
