For any member`s who are suffering or have a family member with cancer, dont give up hope:rose:
remember to buy Irish Charity Christmas cards & support your local hospice
and guys remember November is
& remember for the person that has everything ... make a donation on their behalf to an Irish Charity of your choice ... they will be getting very little from the government this year.
its a fact that it touches everyone in one way or another but like everything else they will eventually find a way to beat it

Raven, a truly wonderful Thread.
I lost my Dad when i was just five years old, and while that was 1979, it still pains me when we see so many people been taken with this nightmare disease.
As a singer, I have always tried to help others and now I will make a pledge here. If anyone here wishes to bring us all together to support this cause, i will gladly perform free of charge in support of the many people young and old who continue to inspire us by their determination to see a New Tomorrow.
Alan your nuts...swing4chairty....:giggle: It could be a sponsored swing!!
But a good idea all the same. Wonder what admin have to say about donating something towards cancer????
I have lost some friends to cancer and nearly lost my mum twice and i do know how it feels..and never want to feel that again.
a sponsored swing...is it like the marathon or bob a job ... money for how many :doggy: u complete.
An auction would be interesting also

:smile2::notes:Hi folks , what a great idea , i was also a sufferer of the big C , to say my life was rocked by it is an understatemnt , i was given six months to live and had a bone marrow transplant , which was succsesful thank god ! ive learnt not to take things in life for granted, and be greatful for everyday that i can wakeup and do the things that we think we are just entiteld to do, breathing , walking , talking ,
seeing , . so yeh i woud give my support in anyway i can to help make sufferers of this disease more comfortable , and let them know that people are there for them and there is support there . Graet thread Ravenfire ! xxxx Firestorm xxx
Firestorm wow, you never know when you meet someone that they may have know someone or had cancer themselves.
Thank you all for posting on this thread xxxx
Anyone needing to talk to someone about cancer should try Cancer Buddies Network (Google the name) - a group who are really friendly. Even if all you want to do is rail against the injustice of it they will listen and support you. It's open to anyone who's life has been touched by this - sufferers, carers, family members and friends are all welcome....sometimes it's easier to talk about these things to strangers than to the people who are close to you.
no mention yet of a contribution from Admin ... early days I suppose.
I think they are writting the cheque as we speak Alan.
I lost 3 family members in the space of 18 months to this horrible disease... I would be willing to be auctioned for the night,to raise money for cancer research or similar:rose:
Like rain I lost two family members very close together (my grandad and uncle within two weeks) Me I have got it twice and beat it both times thank god.
So I say to all make sure you check yourself regularly as the saying goes a stitch in time saves nine.
great thread, lost my 3 yr old son and then three years later my 36 yr old sister. think an auction would be a fantastic idea. you wouldn't get much for me though x

hi all just to thank you all for all Ur kind words as i know how the big c can frighten you when you are told that a loved one has it is devastating and your whole world is turned upside down but to have people who understand what you and your family is going through is the most important thing just to have some one to talk to or just sit and have a coffee and talk about every day things is good i like to thank all the people who have kept me going and to thank all the peeps on here you all know who u are a big hug and kiss to you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx bonny
Bonns and the Clyde,
A few comments here that need to be said, You two are what the site is all about, Great people, whom I personally adore. More importantly great friends, friends that I am honoured to have met and will continue to do so.
Bonns we all have to struggle in our life ( you know my own struggles) I have conquered the big C a few years ago, what started off as a simple in-growing hair on my back developed into more, thankfully it was caught and now gone.
We all have family members that have in some way been affected by the Big C infact some on site, like myself have had too face the scare, thankfully I have and am now Big C free, that said loosing your Family/Mates no matter what age is a hard.
I think RAVEN started a forum post and I think Alan commented on it, this is a great site, maybe in some shape or format could we organise a fundraiser?
Padd's xxxx
