I totally agree with you and well done for them for assisting the member that was being abused.
And no I wouldnt stand by if I saw ..a Female or Male being abused in the street.
However I certainly woulndt take an ad out in the papers the next day telling of my exploits. I would leave it to the relevant authorities to deal with.
Over the past couple of weeks in chat I have seen certain brash and sweeping statements about 'single males' there who are also 'genuinely nice people', my reaction is to the post.

They are arse lickers.... Give them a star and be done with it.
Every single chat room in the world has elements of abuse and nearly all have a proper abuse procedure.
The above posts will not be read by the gobshites that abused that female member and even if they did read it they wouldnt give a damm about it.
Its a cynical exercise in arse licking at the expense of genuie males on this site and in this instance I am coming out of my box and saying it.
Report abuse it will be dealt with by the relevant people, via the relevant process and procedure. If that is is not working well then it needs to be fixed.

Hi That's a good point and sorry dont have the answer. But it leads me to suggestion for a forum on general site issues, i.e. issues of a technical nature not related to content or swinging.
Admin or Tech Support would it be worthwhile to create such a forum..and that would be ideal for creating sticky posts of commoner garden tech issues that people have.
Would of course always be best to create a support ticket also.

Just as an aside... I have on been on chat for the last two weeks...and all people on this thread...as i see are good moderators and have the interest of the site at heart...(not too interested in the history) and none of you were the subject of my post was a general comment on how best to improve the aspirations and goals of mods in general for a site.
But it is important that you are not a mod for but that makes sense... excuse the pun (different strokes...)

Just my two cents worth...
I have hired and manged a few site moderators and content owners and two guilding priciples I have also used are:
1. The best sites are good because they remain on-topic and the communications between individuals is civil and useful. A good moderator works to ensure that this remains true so that everyone can benefit from the community as well as contribute to the discussions in an intelligent manner.
2. The best moderators work with the site members to create an environment which is enjoyable and beneficial to all. A bad moderator can produce the feeling that one is being watched by the Gestapo or secret police, where every word is watched and postings are often deleted without apparent cause or need.
