As Gallant as Shadows effort was..(and I imagine he had his tongue rammed in his cheek when he said it)the hard and fast facts with the 'swing thing' is that the ladies rule the show, and alas I can see what his intentions where...his efforts are going to ensure the only cheeks his tongue will get stuck in on this occasion is his own!!! :twisted:

Mrs was raving about it after last week said it was a good laugh with a bit of raunch thrown in, I only caught up last night the second episode the leader actor Michael Sheen is brilliant loved him in 'Frost/Nixon' and the Girl playing Johnson is a bit of a hottie.
Its a good way to waste an hour.

My Thoughts for what its worth.
Firstly for those who know me a long time here I used to be part of the 'swingmeets' group and know exactly the kind of headaches and hard work that go into a meet and greet and have no issues in saying the folks that go to the effort of organising these thing have many moments of hair pulling and most times on the night itself don't get to enjoy the fruits of they're labours between making sure everything goes swimmingly amongst other things.
True I was a bit taken aback by the venue when we arrived there, as I was sure it was a closed venue (One of the reasons I took my swinging boots down from the shelf in the first place) But after speaking with the host and knowing only too well how these things have to be chopped and changed at the last minute due to amongst other reasons the fact us as a collective ( swingers that is ) are seldom greeted with any sort of open arms and due to the bad press we get from certain narrow minded elements of the media exactly we are left no choice but to 'Grasp' the shorter end of the proverbial straw, this in being such a case.
Whilst I understand most peoples disappointment re the cover charge, I would have seen it more as an acknowledgement of the organisers efforts than a cover charge.
I want to Thank Ginger for organising the night and my real gripe was there was a noticeable Swing V Fab clannishness (with the exception of those of us who gravitate between the two sites), you could almost draw a perfect line through the crowd in my own opinion.
....But hey what do I know.
Thanks Ginger I had a great time and roll on the next get together, because it is for a sense of community that is needed more than anything else and until there are dedicated swing clubs allowed to prosper in this country without the prying eye's and mis-information of the media and other puritanical elements of society we can but only rely on events such as Saturday to get to meet and socialise with others on the same wavelength as ourselves.

When I was involved in meet and greets, it was suggested giving out name badges to aid in identification of the fellow members at the event, this was all great in theory until we brought to mind usernames such as 'takeapissonme' and 'hugefeckingmickey' then the looks of bewilderment by the venue staff on seeing such.
As you can imagine the idea was quickly scrapped...I would be thinking the same pitfalls would be relevant in this situation.
