Should we all take to the streets to voice our opion on the way the country is been run.

I was just watching the news there about the students in England marching because of cuts in Education and the news in France there over the last few weeks when they were trouble over cutting there pensions and everyone took to the reason why i have written this is because why haven't there been any major marches on Dublin or protest if we don't start speaking out the government are still going to fleece the poor to fix there faults this December budget is going to be unreal we lost our fighing spirit as a nation.I probably get slated for putting this up but any comments would we be great if we can get a debate on this going.
just wait till the budget , in the words of the kaiser chiefs "I Predict A Riot"
Biggles you obviously dont watch the news lol because there are protests and campaigns made in Ireland.
There was a protest on the 4th of November just gone in Dublin by students from all over the country, up to 40,000 students had marched on government buildings in protest at government plans to raise the third-level registration fee from €1,500 to €3,000!!!
Taxi drivers have protested, along with European Day Of Action: Protests In Dublin - September 29th to name but a few!!

I saw that amber hun but what i mean is like should they be a national day where everybody just goes on strike for one day and protest i think it would cause quite a stir.
and I forgot this one coming up in December.
March on the Dail on Budget Day.

Oh right I thought you said 'why haven't there been any major marches on Dublin' IMHO one day a year won't make an iota of difference to what decisions our government will make, I'm not sure if anything will unfortunately
Anarchy is coming, Revolution is near. Where are the Trotskys and Lenins of Irish politics? Surely not Gilmore and Kenny?

If everyone went on strike Biggles who would run our essential services? Our hospital staff, fire, ambulance, and guards shouldn't have to strike, their jobs are hard enough without having to strike for a better deal that no one will get no matter what.
So before these ideas of revolution come to mind, stop and think of the impact it would have on the section of the community who rely so much on all the services i named and many more besides!!!

A mate of mine who is a garda told me there that they were going to threatin to strike because of cut backs but were act told if they did strike they could be thrown into prison.
I thought there would be more protests especially after it was announced about the bailout. I hope in the weeks to come that more people do take to the streets to show the powers that be what we think.
I do agree Stig, but we have to remember that at the end of the day it wont make a difference no matter what we do, the goverment has not listened to the People of Ireland is over 90 years and i doubt they will start now.
That's very true Raven. They're after signing on the dotted line now so if or when there's a change of government there's nothing the new government will be able to do about it. We're already committed to it now sad
We are well and truely f***ed....but nothing new with this country sadly
