I remember first hearing this song when watching Live Aid back in 1985. I was only 8 years old but even being so young I still understood the desperation and the urgency of what was happening in Ethiopia. The Live Aid video version struck me really hard back then and is still quite harrowing to watch today. Still makes me well up sad

Piano heaven.... I love songs that are piano based. And its a beautiful song, but I always imagined it being written from a male perspective. As in a guy going to prison or something and asking his lover to wait for him.
