Billy idol - To Be A Lover (from the album Whiplash Smile)

Solomon Burke - Cry To Me

.... always brings be back ... to good and bad times :upset:

ok ... had to pop this one up - one of my favorites ... written by Billy Corgan on the passing of his mother - powerful song !!!
That Extreme song is a BIG song. so is the Beetles one, dang! you lot have me all emotional tonight!
Here's an equally BIG song (or considering the singer is Dylan's son, maybe its a poem), about a partner passing away and the spouse being left to raise a child alone.
The Wallflowers - One Headlight
Cat Stevens - Wild World

madmwink:
Guiseppe Ottaviani - White Lady
Wham - Last Christmas
The biggest Christmas song that never made it to No.1 (Was pipped by Band Aid)
Ah well Im sure George Michael doesnt care, after all he's raking it in every year with royalties from this song.

Merry Xmas Everyone!! madmgrin:
[b:4df873f8d8]The Doors - Riders On The Storm[/b:4df873f8d8] If you listen closely you can hear him whispering the lyrics over the main vocals.

[b:cf329622c8]Dan Bull - Nothing On Jews[/b:cf329622c8] (An open letter to Benjamin Netanyahu) A great song from Dan Bull about how the Israeli Govt are war criminals. This is one song where I fully back the singer in everything he says. Well lets face it people, the Israeli's are forcing Palestinian people from their homes in order to make settlements for Israeli people. I remember during history class, hearing about this being done from 1933 - 1945 in Germany. How the tides have turned over time. What the Israeli's claim was a gross injustice being perpetrated against them, is now exactly what they are doing to Palestinan people nowadays......... Legalised ethnic cleansing which is being done with the approval of the USA
Chris Rea - Driving Home For Christmas The one time of year everyone makes a real effort to see those they care about. Love Christmas.
JamesVincent McMorrow - Higher Love
Not often are covers usually better than the original, but I love this cover...Always good to see Irish talent
Happy Xmas everybody madmgrin:

if you're talking about better covers then what about the Killers version of Romeo and Juliet? I'm not a fan of them but they do this song all the justice in the world
[b:214bb35bcd]Nirvana - The Man Who Sold The World[/b:214bb35bcd] I'm a big fan of David Bowie, who has reinvented himself in music & style for decades. I'm not a big fan of his 80's work but IMHO he has to be one of the coolest men around in the history of music. Love Nirvana's version of this.. Nirvana's MTV's unplugged in New York is absolutely amazing

David Bowie is a legend, the male Madonna except with actual talent. Cobain's version of Man Who Sold The World is brill.
Was so excited back in 2009 when Bowie was to play Oxegen, and was gutted when he had to pull from the line-up..
One of my faves:
David Bowie - Heroes
Bee Gees - Love You Inside Out
