Underground Resistance - Transition There will come a time in your life when you will ask yourself a series of questions.
Am I happy with who I am?
Am I happy with the people around me?
Am I happy with what I'm doing?
Am I happy with the way my life is going?
Do I have a life or am I just living?
Do not let these questions strain or trouble you just point youself in the direction of your dreams find your strengh in the sound and make your transition.
Do not spend to much time thinking and not enough doing.
Did I try the hardest at any of my dreams?
Did I purposly let others discourage me when I knew I could?
Will I die never knowing what I could have been or could of done?
Do not let these doubts restrain of trouble you just point yourself in the direction of your dreams.
Find your strength in the sound and make your transition.
There will be people who say you can't - you will.
There will be people who say you dont mix this with that and you will say "watch me".
There will be people who will say play it safe, thats to risky - you will take that chance and have no fear.
You wont let these questions restrain or trouble you.
You will point yourself in the direction of your dreams.
You will find the sreangth in the sound and make your transition.
For those who know its time to leave the house and go back to the field.
Find your strength in the sound and make your transition.

[b:09e8629314]Colin Farrell - I Fought The Law[/b:09e8629314]
From The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack - Intermission (2003)
Same as The Clash version, but this version is sung by Colin Farrell in a North Dublin Accent, and being from North Dublin myself, I think this is a class version.
[b:09e8629314]"Robbing people with a six-gun, I fought the law and the law won
I lost my girl and I lost my fun, I fought the law and the law won
I left my baby and it feels so bad, I guess my race is run
She's the best girl that I ever had, I fought the law and the law won"[/b:09e8629314]

The Fugees - Killing Me Softly
Lauryn Hill's voice is something else, what a gift she was given
LL Cool J - Ain't Nobody
Although not released on any of LL Cool J's albums, this single was used in the Beavis and Butthead movie and can be found on the movie's OST CD. Heavily influenced and also taking samples from Rufus & Chaka Khan's 1983 version of the song, this track reached No. 1 in the UK charts in 1997.
"I'm exploring your body and your erogenous zones,
Like a black tiger caged up til you come home
Lovely, you make a man swoon like a boy, the love is so soft it gets hard to enjoy
Cause the mind flys and sometimes the sex lies,
Smooth little girls fall in love with rough guys
But you can chop a big heart down to pint size,
I guess that's what it sounds like when a dove cries
The whole world is trapped up in a maze, but you save this real good lovin' for rainy days
The lord works in mysterious ways, he musta put you on this earth for all men to praise
Ain't nobody does me better, makes me happy, makes me feel this way,
Ain't nobody does me better...
You can take it girl, stop runnin uh"

[b:abd21edada]Madonna - Material Girl[/b:abd21edada]
From the album: Like A Virgin (1984)
To be honest it's the video of this song that I like more. The song itself is pretty catchy but Madonna has never looked better than she does in this video. The video itself is an homage to Marlilyn Monroe, and Madonna just looks so damn hot in that pink dress. Plus the fact that all through the video she keeps making these sexy faces while she sings is so tasty. And you can tell by watching this that if Madonna wanted to have all the men in this video she would be well able for them ;)
Some people on here talk about "The Glint" in a girl's eyes, and if you dont understand what they mean, then check this out cos Madonna has nothing but glint in her eyes in this video.
If you cant see "Glint" here then I dont think you ever will....
[b:abd21edada]"Some boys romance, some boys slow dance, that's all right with me
If they can't raise my interest then I have to let them be
Some boys try and some boys lie but I don't let them play,
Only boys who save their pennies make my rainy day.
Cos we are living in a material world and I am a material girl
You know that we are living in a material world and I am a material girl"[/b:abd21edada]

Coldplay-'Lovers in Japan'
[b:225bbc63b3]Eddy Grant - Gimme Hope Joanna[/b:225bbc63b3]
From the album: Barefoot Soldier (1988)
One of the most famous anti-apartheid songs, this was banned by the South African Govt upon its release. A song which showcased the injustices of the white South African regime that ruled at the time. This song was instrumental and inspirational and helped to showcase to the world what the SA Govt were actually doing in Soweto. Soon after this songs release there were large orchestrated and organised worldwide protests and demos against the SA regime of the time. Even here in Ireland, some ladies who worked for Dunnes Stores went on strike after one of the ladies who refused to handle South African produce (Outspan oranges) was suspended.
Around the same time as this songs release, Tracy Chapman released Talkin Bout A Revolution, another anti-apartheid song, and finally the ordinary people of the western world had enough and started to band together in unity against the SA Govt and its racist policies. Two years after this songs release, SA President FW De Klerk would lift the ban on the ANC, would free Nelson Mandela, and give the black majority the right to cast their votes in the forthcoming election, in which Nelson Mandela won and was then inaugurated as the new SA President.
Just goes to show that if people stand together as one for the civil rights of others, they can be more inspirational and powerful than any army.
[b:225bbc63b3]"Well Jo'anna she runs a country, she runs in Durban and the Transvaal
She makes a few of her people happy, oh she don't care about the rest at all
She's got a system they call apartheid, it keeps a brother in a subjection
But maybe pressure can make Jo'anna see how everybody could live as one
Oh gimme hope Jo'anna, hope Jo'anna, gimme hope Jo'anna 'fore the morning come
Gimme hope Jo'anna, hope Jo'anna, hope before the morning come"[/b:225bbc63b3]
