From the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack: Streets Of Fire (1984)
OK so they arent a real band, and were really only formed for a movie, but the music they made for the movie was quite good, and this song was my fave from the soundtrack. The movie itself (Streets Of Fire) is one of the most underrated & undervalued movies of the 80's. But it is a classic, and has now reached cult status. If you get a chance to see it, then give it a look. Im guessing you might actually like it. It has a real comic book story feel to it.

Dire Staits - Tunnel Of Love, if you can spare 8 minutes of your life you wont get back, you might just be rewared, if you have ever been drunk on love, and then left broken hearted, the Knopler solo that builds from all the way to the end will put things right. But if you have the time close your eyes and listen to the whole song.

The song was released in 1988 as the third single from the album.
Although the album from which this song comes from was more controversial for the 3rd track on the CD (I Want Your Sex Parts I & II), Father Figure has since been voted by fans as one of his best ever singles to be released, not only from the Faith album, but also against every subsequent album he has since released. And personally, its my favourite George Michael track ever. Just hope he performs it in November

Always loved this song since I was young. My mother always sang this as she did the cleaning around the house when I was a kid. But it means more to me as Ally & I would sing it as we drove around on our Maui leg of our Honeymoon in Hawaii. And just like xxfor's song above, its a great tune for a singalong.

Just a brilliant song. Slow, meaningful and just the kinda song you need playing in the background when you're having a nice romantic dinner with a date/girlfriend/wife/partner. Perfect tempo, great lyrics, and Buble is just one of the best male vocalists out there today.
Although many others have since covered this tune, nobody ever came close to capturing the spirit of the song like "The Bube" did. This song will be considered a classic in the decades to come. Just so sorry I never got to see him perform here

Yeah ok so Manilow is a bit of a glorified cabaret artist, but so what? He has released some great songs over the years, this being just one of them. Just a cool and catchy song for a lovely sunny day we are having today. Well we are having a glorious sunny day here in the hills, dont know about the rest of you

This is such a brilliant song from a very underrated Dublin band. This song was their only success, but I cant see why as this song is really really good. It was released in the summer of 1998, and always brings me back to that time when Ally & I started seeing each other that summer. To this day, I still hold this song up there as one of my favourites.

This song is my fave Beastie Boys song. The video is absolutely fab. Its kind of a homage to the 70's cop shows like Streets of San Fransisco. It was directed by Spike Jonze, who also directed the Bjork - Oh So Quiet & Fatboy Slim - Praise you videos among many others. If you do watch the video, look out for the backhanded slap the cop gives the criminal at around the 2:33 minute mark then at 2:40 the cops throw him out of a moving car - its priceless
