Phil Collins - Do you Remember?
Always loved this song since it was released. Never seen the video until yesterday when I went looking for it. Have to say the video is quite endearing.
From that fantastic Phil Collins album ...But Seriously

N.W.A. - Straight Outta Compton
Remember hearing this song in the summer of 1990 and thinking "Wow". I'd never heard bad language in a song before this. Maybe thats what hooked me. Anyway, great song from a great debut album, from a rap group consisting of among others, Dr Dre, Ice Cube & Eazy E.
"Eazy is his name and the boy's comin' - Straight Outta Compton is a brotha who will smother your mother, and make your sister think I love her"
[b:20c94af37a]Oasis - Live Forever[/b:20c94af37a]
One song that when I first heard it made me take notice. When I first heard this I loved it and wanted to find out more about who this band were.
Say what you want about Oasis. Loudmouths? Yes. Yobs? Yes.
But when all is said and done, they did revolutionise British music during the mid 90's. Nobody could touch them back in the years 1994 - 1996. Their 1st two albums were some of the best British music of the past 20 years.
Here's the U.S. version of the video, which I think is a better video than the U.K. version.
[b:20c94af37a]"Maybe you're the same as me, we see things they'll never see, you and I are gonna live forever"[/b:20c94af37a]
From the wonderful (And their best) album: Definitely Maybe
Enjoy

[b:f3eb943b56]Oasis - Whatever[/b:f3eb943b56]
Yes its another Oasis track today. Their 1st ever non album single to be released (Dec 94). The CD single was released as a filler between the band's first two albums, and was the first Oasis song to feature an 8 piece string section in the background. The song entered the UK charts at No.3 in December 94.
If I were to choose my favourite song from this band, then this would definitely be it.
[b:f3eb943b56]"Always seems to me, you only see what people want you to see"[/b:f3eb943b56] - what a brilliant line.
Here is the full uncut version of the video.
Enjoy On a side note, the song has recently been used by Coca Cola in their South American ad campaigns, and features a classroom of children singing the song while their teacher strums along on his guitar. Kinda nice to see this version too. The smiles on the faces of the kids in the video would melt the most frozen of hearts.
Voodoo child - Rogue traders
Lucky Man - The Verve
Absolutely love Richard Ashcroft
[b:9cf9f2688f]Lighthouse Family - High[/b:9cf9f2688f]

From the album: Postcards From Heaven (1997)
[b:9cf9f2688f]"We are gona be forever you and me, you will always keep me flying high in the sky of love"[/b:9cf9f2688f]

[b:55e0247153]Pearl Jam - Jeremy[/b:55e0247153]
Today we have a great pounder of a song from Seattle Grunge Band Pearl Jam. The incredibly strong vocal talent of Eddie Vedder belting out this classic from 1992
Released in 1992
From their debut album: Ten
[b:55e0247153]"Daddy didn't give attention, to the fact that mommy didn't care.
King Jeremy the wicked ruled his world. Jeremy spoke in class today"[/b:55e0247153]
Heres the video

[b:f53e841bc2]Tracy Chapman - Talkin 'bout a Revolution[/b:f53e841bc2]
The second single from the platinum selling, self titled debut album: Tracy Chapman
Released in 1988, this song is mainly seen as an anti-apartheid song focused primarily towards the South African government at that time, whilst also making note of the lack of employment and promotional opportunities for African-Americans when compared to white Americans during the Reagan years.
[b:f53e841bc2]"Poor people are gonna rise up and get their share. Poor people are gonna rise up and take what's theirs.
Cause finally the tables are starting to turn. Talking about a revolution. Yes finally the tables are starting to turn. Talking about a revolution"[/b:f53e841bc2]
There doesnt seem to be any official video available online, so here is a link to a fan made video instead.
Enjoy
[b:17089d6995]Duran Duran - Girls On Film[/b:17089d6995]
Back to the early 80's for this classic today.
The third single released by Duran Duran (1983).
While the song is mainly about the exploitation of models, there are some sexual innuendos and some double entendres in the lyrics.
[b:17089d6995]"Wider, baby, smile and you've just made a million. Fuses pumping live heat twisting out on a wire.
Take one last glimpse into the night I'm touching close I'm holding bright, holding tight
Give me shudders in a whisper, take me up til I'm shooting a star"[/b:17089d6995]
When the video was initially released it was considered too risque for TV and was shown initially in nightclubs which had large screens. The video was soon heavily re-edited to be broadcast on television.
Below is the link to a very slightly censored version of the original video.
