Phew......got my all clear!
Not that I was worried about anything but you know when you are waiting for your test results to come back and you think.....what if??
Which got me thinking......
Being the sexual beings that we are.......do we look after sexual health as well as we take care of our physical health???
I for one have to admit to not doing so in the past and catching chlamydia from a previous sexual partner a few years back. I was one of the lucky ones who got all the not so pleasant symptons so got myself checked out and treated very early on.
But...having to call round to another sexual partner and say..... I have chlamydia, you need to get tested.....was an experience I have never forgotten.
Ok ok I hold my hands up to having unprotected sex with a guy who had had a vasectomy. When i told him he was who I had caught it from.....he said....how????...... I've had the snip!!!!! (maybe his IQ was not what attracted me to him)
I have been tested 3 times in the 2 yrs since that fateful event and have noticed something when i went recently.....the first time there were all women in the clinic waiting room......2nd time a handful of men....this time....only 2-3 singles....the rest were couples.
Wide ranging from obviously teens to late 30's.
I know this thread might die in the water......but....do you look after your sexual health well enough??? If nothing else it might get you thinking.

great thread to bring up ....
every one should be tested at some stage especially if u swing ....as if even u do have protected sex some stuff can still be caught...
i have been tested twice myself and glad to say i m clean... i m one of the lucky ones... and i will continue to be tested from time to time if we continue to swing for peace of mind

goes without saying ,get your arse to the gum clinic yearly if not six monthly as someone who was a hiv link nurse for a few years ,and mrs tussey worked: in hiv units before funding was withdrawn ,its no big deal going and having a swab taken from your willie or fanny ,spread the love not the clap

Got My One done 3 months ago. I get it done twice a year. always practice safer (note the er...condoms arent 100% safe) sex but still get a regular test.

Come on lads.....dont be so shy! I know its far from pleasant to have a cotton bud put up your 'pee hole' as titan so eloquently said.....but for some women having their legs parted, up in stirrups and a speculum inside aint fun and games too.
Then again.....since we fems go for smear tests(yearly in my case) we are more used to things like that.
For others its getting the blood taken for their tests thats much more of an issue.
Guys and gals.....since we all say we practice safe sex....do we really???? I only ask cos I thought....what the hell are dental dams? (those sheets that are supposed to be used for the practice of sex sex when performing oral on a woman) I asked in my local chemist and was told to go to Elverys sports!!!!
My only issue with being tested is how few GUM clinics there are. I live in the north east and so to the clinic in newry.....you wait about a month for an appt but is far handier than having to go to dublin....the next closest place. In the clinic in newry they say that a huge % of clients are from the south.

thanks a million to all who have replied so far....was a bit worried about opening a thread like this....and i didnt do it because we are on a swing site....I believe that as members of the swing community that we would be more inclined to be more open about our sexual health and look after ourselves more.
i get tested every 12 months, there's a clinic that does it for free up the road from me(you can give a donation if ya want), i've been given the all clear every time, and i never really get worried because i always practice safe sex because i've read quite a few things about STI's and would never risk going un protected on a chance, and as far as getting the umberella down ur "you know what" its not that painfull, just a little pinch for a sec and its over.

:Pyou only get the "umberella" jobby if u actual have a dose off the clap ,any good gp will do the swab for you and send it off for testing our local gp does our tests ,for those too "shy"to go speak to thier gp about such things dont be having sex then . spread the love not the:clap:

Even with the use of condoms it is not impossible to pick up a host of infections, and why would I inflict those on anyone else, simply becasue I couldn't be arsed getting tested..

As I said in my first post I hold my hands up to being one of the foolish ones and had unprotected sex.....being that i am in my 30's you;d have thought I'd have known better.
What amazes me though is the amount of people I have come across who have never been tested.....ever!!!!!!!!

great topic MJJ, have to admit to having Chlamydia getting tested was not the nicest feeling in the world that long cotton bud thing went down a long long long way and they dont pull it out till u scream which I did but in a manly way hehe, was 21 then and kept up the test sinse then been tested about 4 maybe 5 times after that and no probs, thanks to the old rubbers,
Oh how i knew there was something wrong was a clear sticky drip on the end of my dick, noticed it again the next day so went to the GP who sent me to James St hospital there is a free clinic there called the G.U. BTW MJJ did u have to stay out of the sun while on the antibiotics I did for a week I was like a vampire on them 2 min in the sun and u are in agony.
It's good to know some ppl are talking care of their bits makes the sexy stuff all the more fun ;-)
