Have to say since you mentioned social networking, that this site has much more interesting people than farcebook and twatter and bobo and the rest of them social networking sites. At least people on here actually meet up not like those other sites where you make friends with total strangers but never actually meet them in person. Them sites are for people with no outgoing people skills who need to make friends from behind a pc screen and never actually meet. So if that makes them feel popular, then more fool them.

OP i havent seen that group on here, but there are so many groups in here that i wouldnt have the patience to go looking for it.
I do echo Sherri's sentiments regardings groups linking themselved to here.
On another point....I am an avid user of the above mentioned f/book....and having been using chatrooms since my parents first got the internet back in 1998. I have people I still talk to on a regular basis.....be it reduced to 4 or 5 times a year...that i have known through various sites for anything between 5-12yrs through various online chat mediums....
Friendships come in many forms....in many guises....and each lend themselves to various aspects of my life as a whole....each contribute in their own way and i take enjoyment out of these accquaintances, be they face to face friendships.....long distance friends who i havent seen for years but use f/book to maintain the old friendship....or indeed.....have the banter with people i have never met...will never meet!(even like those in here I love chatting to but will never meet either)
I;d like to think I have 'outgoing people skills' as mentioned above and my interest in cyber conversations has assisted that to some degree too.
