As We are after getting so many people adding Us to their favourites..Without ever having the politeness to even ask..We have now moved ALL our pics to "Private".
We have asked Admin to do something about this,But it could be a while before it's sorted.
In the meantime,If your one of our close friends,You'll be able to continue to view our pics,on request.

There's a secondary point in there which interests me as well, because I'd never thought it through properly before. It's the matter of adding people to your/my favourites.
I simply thought that favourites were treated as bookmarks and I added people to my favourites list willy-nilly, so that I could look up their profile again sometime and see easily if they were online. I was blissfully unaware that "favourites" was to be taken more seriously and should only follow some communication and initial friendship.
Hopefully my question doesn't hijack CorkHotCpl's thread, but I would be very appreciative if someone could put me right on what is the proper etiquette here for adding others to my favourites list.

ok cork will prob shoot me lol but i couldnt care less who adds me as a fave , at the end of the day i talk to who i wish to talk to and just because someone adds me as a fave doesnt mean there is going to be any interaction between myself and them ,also if your pics are public people can see them weather they have added you as fave or not ... as for silkys point about pics , the facility is there for all to put them public or private ..members own choice to show them or not
To be honest Bicur,,We couldn't give a toss about what was said...We were only giving our opinion,,,Not asking advice from anyone..
We are not alone on this issue,,Other people also get pissed off that someone can come along and add you as a favourite,without even asking!
Especially as Mods in here,,where people that sometimes push the rules to the limit,Those people can keep an eye on you,,so they know when your on-line,,and when your not,Giving them a better chance of getting up to No good!

Your last post explains more fully why you are unhappy with people who add you as favourites. I see your point. I'm not sure what can be done, though. Making all pics private, blocking nuisance members, etc, might not be enough. I'd imagine, though, that such people often disappear after a while if they are ignored.

I tend to agree with coolhand here. Not sure what harm it does to receive a note that someone put you in their favourites. I always considered it more a bookmark myself - and a compliment. To ask for permission would be even worse as you would be getting all sorts of mail and requests that would take longer to read and sort out. Its also a way of the sender saying 'I like your profile' without bothering you too much. Personally I wish I got more - my profile must be crap.
I can undestand how hotcpl link the pics to the number of 'favourites' they recieve though.
I have to agree with cool hand too i get added every day as someones favourite and it doesnt bother me at all, however i do know where corkhot is coming from on a moderators point of view as people i have banned has added me to their favs. Well i say at least they know im on the site watching them just my tuppence worth
