Also we now have friends and favourites....whats the difference?

If you're using the Search and you come across lets say 4-5 profiles you are interested in messaging, you can add them to your favourites. Later when you have more time you can then go into your favourites area and send them a message/take another look at their profile.
Favourites are basically a way to store a quick list of people you are interested in.
Friends on the other hand are more like the old favourites system, you have to mutually agree to become friends which then comes in handy because the friends feed on the home page will show what they've been up to etc and you'll know when they are online. Friends will become more useful later when we add in the Site Messenger.

You can block messages that come in through the Mailbox.
If you go into a message in your Inbox, there's an 'Ignore' button. Hit this from someone you don't want to hear from again and job done

Some people have asked about the travel and accomodate settings on their profile pages. You can amend them under My account / settings where you click the boxes under the time settings if you can travel or accomodate. people should also make sure they are set to the correct location setting and time for Ireland. Today I twice listed a party and twice it said that it had to be approved, and twice it disappeared without being approved or declined. Does any of the mods or admin know why this is happening? Is it a glitch in the new site?

If chat opens in a tab its down to how you have your browser set up, but if you right click you will get an option to open in a new window, hope that helps.

Yeah it was in a current tab like the old Site that I wanted the Chatroom to open not a separate new window, so that I could still use active other current tabs at the same time without having to go into new window. But I had found a way around it by right-clicking and opening as an actual Tab and firstly loading S4i, then loading tabs with other Sites that I would be working on, so was going with that.
I had wondered why people weren't giving out about having to open Chat in a new window, but then yesterday I saw that there is a way to open it as a current tab like I wanted!:happy: So it must be just me lol! banghead
*Just in case any-one else hasn't spotted it, ~instead of~ clicking on Enter The Chatroom where it'll open a new window, - select "Clicking here" written in red in the line directly under-neath (Circled in diagram below,) and it will open along with your other tabs where you will be able to switch between sites easily.

As a long-term regularly active member I am getting used to the new Uniform on-site - though I regret that it's lost it's unique feel of an Irish Site for people in Ireland. Why Black as a background to the menus? Surely some of the lovely Irish Greens are still available ...dunno
The new chatroom is taking a while to get the hang of - especially when it 'hangs' for no apparent reason -banghead which I hope is a temporary glitch and not a new feature. And that's using my new laptop that has no history/cache/memory whatsoever of the old site.
Surely it is possible that, once selected the Italic/Bold/Underline text functions can be retained for all subsequent posts, and not just for the one currently being posted? Or have a 'preferred font-face' set-up for the user as a baseline?
I loooooooooooooooooove the whipser-blocker :giggle:
Thank you, thank you, thank you Admin passionkiss
I looooooooooooooooooove that you can turn the cams off.
and change the size/quality too - this helps my old laptop cope immensely!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you Admin sillyassionkiss:
I anticipate the return of our Group Admin tools - with baited breath.
We neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed to be able to see our Group Forums, do approvals and kick folks who need it - ASAP. As well as be able to do follow-ups on new joiners. Our Group Forums need to be accessible - how can we pass on messages to over a thousand people without wearing out our fingers mailing individuals separately :giggle:
We the regular members also need to be able to see 'Who's online now', preferably with a 'local to me' option too.
It seems that bringing in the new version of the website means we've lost some important and useful tools, which I can only hope, really is just an interim situation.
And ... in the fullness of time - that we get used to the new codings for the most commonly used smilies that we all love and miss.
Don't get me wrong - I'm not anti-change, anti-progress or anti-anything else :giggle:
I know you have a huge task on your plate updating the place. Perhaps there's too much change all at once though - it's discombobulating to be soooooooooo out of the loop that you feel you're on a new planet instead of feeling 'at home'
But we the members do need our communication tools ...
after all, this place is all about being able to make new connections ...
