Having just spent a wonderful weekend in the company of some grrrrrrrrrrreat company, just wanted to see what others views might be on this subject/
Yes, there is a lot of private parties, meets organised and the 'privileged' few get their invitation, and when you arrive peeps in general are a bit nervous as to if/maybe there might be some 'chemistry' there ;)
What a wonderful surprise to be under the same roof of so many sexy peeps, the numbers were small, but still not enough time to get around to everyone (am pretty sure everyone felt the same, its a rarity when you end up in the same place, where you want to play with everyone, but time and nature don't allow things like to happen, (don't you just hate some things about life lol )).
It's really wonderful where you go to a party and you encounter peeps who are not 'hedging their bets' and everyone is welcome to a small mix of unadulterated debauchery ;)
Right back to the question, when you go to a party or a meeting, is it A. to get the leg over, or be social and possibly put yourself(s) in a position where things might happen, but they never have to ;)

Alicolwic You have numerous posts over time about not getting invited to parties, take your toys back in the pram and get over it will you , you cant get invited to every single party going ,jeez. Id be of the opinion your whining about it doesnt help your case either. To answer your question Baileys I tend to go to most meets/parties under the B option.

Who do you think you are insulting us like that Angel-eyes? Or is it slightly sexy or even Medussa?
Using a rarely used psuedonym to hide your identity while insulting people shows lack of lumbar. In my opinion, you do not have the right attitude to carry a star.

I never have any expectations, that way i'm never disapointed.... If it happens, great, if it dont thats life. I have way too much bad stuff going in real life to worry about stuff like that, Life is just too short, so make the best of the hand your delt, and enjoy the ride as you go.. So for me its a definate B Sean

mr b... great thread hun,,, it would definatly be option b for us all the way ,, we have been to so many great parties and never played proberly because we were haveing so much craic,, and we have also been to so many parties where we havnt stoped playing all night ,, and i can honestly say ,, that i would not say that one was a better night than the other ,,if you come away from a party with a huge smile on your face it doesnt matter if it was for the craic or the "leg over" now come throw your leg over me mr b passionkiss

Has to be the B option for us too. We find to go out with this attitude takes away any feelings of pressure. We relax more and as a result have a great time, no matter what happens. And hey, if we don't do anything naughty... well, there's always next time.

This thread was never initiated to allow site users to have a dig at party/meet organisers, the party we attended was very small with some fantastic peeps that we have known for some time and it was their first time to host a small gathering of people. Now is a time where some of the lifestyle members are beginning to want to hold their own small private gatherings, they have limits, which they need to feel comfortable with, the space thats available to them, the number they would like to attend, something as simple that all the people they invite will like each other. It may sound like fantasy, but occasionally swingers enjoy a night out in a bar or niteclub somewhere, and occasionally they 'bump' in to other lifestyle members along the way, what starts out with maybe 2 or 4 people sharing a drink in a bar can at times turn in to a small crowd of lovely people just enjoying each others company without even thinking of playing, but its things like the above which can lead to the latter ;) Reiterating the point of the thread, we have been to a cpl of parties which were sex parties, in other words, when you walked in the door, the naughty outfits were put on and the mischief started, (the kinda party that some can take to very easily, but find the majority of peeps on this scene don't do the performing monkey act very well sad ) Our preference would be the latter, we enjoy entering a party atmosphere where guests are welcoming, friendly and enjoy the banter and laughs as much as the nawtee side of the scene ;) We don't want to marry or fall in love with any of the peeps we might meet up, but its great that we can share in their company for a few hours, whether that time just be social, playfull or both ;) We all have vanilla friends, but have to say meeting lifestylers can be a wonderful experience, what other way could you spend time with some great sexy friends, where some want to show off their new sexy outfits, their new toys, be playfull and still wake up the next day smiling ;)

Well parties are fun, weather your playing or just having a laugh. Allowic, its fun not being left out. I wouldn't take it personally, if you had a great time hosting a party then that's what's important.

Baileys great thread and some interesting observations on the point. When we set out on this lifestyle, we decided that altough the fun and naughty side of it would be amazing it soon became apparrent that making friends was going to be something that was going to be an added bonus Some ppl will read this and say that were only new to this and therefore havent a clue but at the end of the day, everyone was a newbie at some stage. So in answer to your question B we would have to say that when we go anywhere it is ultimately to make friends and have fun, if we have fun yipee all the better so option B all the way

Alicolwic wasn't asking to be invited to every single party on the site in this post but then why bother to actually read posts on the forums properly when you can simply have a go at people.
I feel that if you have invited someone into your home for a party of a social meeting then if they subsequently arrange something themselves then it would be nice ofthe people concerned to also show the same courtesy that has been extended to them.

Has to be "b" for me, I find the social events great craic and sure anything that happens afterwards is a bonus. Alicolwic, don't know you, never met you,but if what you say is true, well you shouldn't issue party invites just to get them in return ,it's all about freedom of choice really !! . Plus it could get very boring partying with the same people, afterall variety is the spice of life lol

I always attend parties with the outlook to having a good night out and a break from the norm pure and simple, if I get to play with some people in the process great, if not, sure feck it have a laugh anyway/ that said I haven't been shy about making my excuses and leaving if I was adamant the majority of attendee's weren't for me(in honesty would you stay in the company of anyone getting up your nose with no apparent effort in a pub/run of the mill social setting?)That's the great thing about free will and choice. In some instances you might like to reciprocate the invite or expect to be invited to another if you make a good impression, this all depends on so many variables it would make you dizzy. I've had the best nights with the most unlikely mix of people, and I mean that respectfully, and had the most atrocious nites with those I may have had some expectations(thats a nasty habit you soon learn to grow out of in the swing world) but its trial and error like a lot of things. I've organized a few party's and never gotten a return invite, but I've never lost sleep over it, life's too short for me personally to get hung up on them sort of things. As I said at the start I go for the craic and if there's loads of it happening the laws of chemistry sort everything else out. Swing when yer winning!

To get back on track with this thread!!
For me it would be a bit of both but having said that: I've been to a few meet and greets and I've always gone on the principle of not getting my hopes up for the night ahead as has been said if you've no hopes then you'll never disappointed then either, but rather I go just to see what happens as you never know what will occur in the future. I've not been to any parties or been invited to any on here so I can't comment on that. I know that's the way it goes with single guys on here, am NOT complaining about that or anything (just in case someone reads it like that) as i know that's just the way things are.

When we invite people to ours to party its mainly for the social end of things. The laugh and banter, the cheeky slagging & teasing, the glancing looks and the flirtation too. Yet we are almost 100% sure that our guests and ourselves will end up naked and in "The swing of things" at some point in the night. After all, isnt that what parties are all about? However that not withstanding, I wouldn't expect to end up sleeping with any of our guests, and I never ever make a move on our guests, but prefer that they make the first move, or at least show that they would be interested in playing before anything is initiated. And the reason for this? Well its simple really. The last thing I would want is for a girl to feel uncomfortable, and not feel that she is able to say no, just because I am one of the hosts. So the answer to the original question here is Option B with the hope of Option A as a bonus.

I think we both have a big "B" stamped on our foreheads!
We've been to a coupla of 'meetings' where the social side took over the 'fun' side and neither of us were disappointed. when we started down this road i guess we both thought the swing scene was all about the 'fun'. but we've since learned it's all about the craic because if there's no chemistry or spark between people then there's no 'play'!
the best thing we've found since joining this site is friends. Whether it's sitting on the sofa in the chatroom or nervously twitching at an M&G, the laughs we've had have been worth every cent of the membership fee lol
We don't attend any functions with expectations so have never been disappointed (except when we get kicked out by security but i think they're just jealous!) :kick:
So, in conclusion, B!
Any questions?

Think about it guys if you go to a party and your only intention is to get your leg over that will show like a sore thumb. And for the curious couple out there you might fancy it will unnerve them. We have all met the guy who walks up to you and says "lets fuck" like who here will drop to there knees in awe with those words. Everyone no matter who you are likes to feel made special. When someone takes the time to talk to them it A) Relaxes the person B) Gives a clue as to the type of person they are. C) And most importantly if you go away thinking what a nice person/couple they are your more interested to have fun with them. TAKE YOUR TIME , CHAT BE SOCIAL AND IF THINGS HAPPEN THEY WILL HAPPEN AND THINGS WILL BE MORE ENJOYABLE.

Well I hafto disagree with you all, I purly attend parties to get my leg over, the less conversation the better, get in the door and clothes off now!!!......... Just kidding of course lol After I attended my first party I was admittedly abit surprised at the relaxed, friendly atmosphere - although the fun part is also a great part of the bargain - I think it is the friends I have made, from all walks of life and with all varying tastes, that have made me stick around and want more of this scene. Now I can't get enough lol  Most of us have close friends apart from swinging, but I think what sets those apart from the friends you make whle swinging is that you can be the R-Rated version of yourself with the swinging folk who are like-minded enough to handle it!!! Here's to lots more fun and lots more new friends along the way drinkies

Great thread Baileys, We would have to opt for B. Always great to mix with like minded ppl and enjoy the buzz of the party/meet, anything after that is a very enjoyable bonus smile hump Happy :swingingchair: folks :)

we don't get invited out much, don't know why people don't like rude, flabby, wheezy alcoholics like us but each to their own! When we do it's definitely reason B, we learned at our first party not to expect to have to perform like a complete sex-machine.... it's def for the craic, that first party we were gobsmacked how long it took for a few people to get busy, think it's cos all the girls were over 6' (some out of heels!) and the men were just freaked out! Plus, one guy had just got off a plane from Malaysia at the height of the swine-flu thingy and he was streaming like a beer-tap, that might've put a damper on things. The last two M&G's we've been to have had someone with a dose of flu too, it's a real turn-off! Lower your expectations folks and raise your standards. And invite us lol
