Hi forum users would like everyone who use forums to dig deep into their memory banks an recall anytime when they, family member, or friend done a deed that benifited another person or made another persons life that bit easyer.
****original post by candylove*****continued .... Hi guys would like to start with a piece that i was passed on to me by a family member. Puts things into prospetive for me. Hope you like too. A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When his class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the studentsif the jar was full. They agree that it was. So the prfessor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured the into the jar and shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areasbetween the golf balls. He then asked the student again if the jar was was full. They agreed it was. The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responed with a unanimous "yes". The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and pouredthe entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty spaces between the students laughed. "Now", said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognised that this jar is your life. The golf balls are the important things, your children, your family, your friends, your health, your God and your favourite passions, so that if everthing eles was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car. The sand is ecerything else, the small stuff. If you put the sand into the jar first", he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spendall your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness". :-Play with your children! :-Take time to get medical checkups! :-Take your partner out to dinner! There will always be time to clean the house and wash the care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities, the rest is just sand". One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The prfessor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem , theres alwayroom for a couple of cups of coffeewith a friend.[/ post edited to enhance colour
obviously a golf fanatic, but a great way to demonstrate life... how true it is that many of us get stressed on the small stuff .... especially the 40hour working week, that influences an affects the other hours ... and yet when the job is gone, what are we left with?... if we have looked after them we will still have our family, but like a flower , families will not trive on neglect.
