Imaging my surprise this week to be confronted in my work place by a single guy of here asking if i was lucy .. i think my red face gave him the answer he was looking for ,, as i waited he informed me that he was ,, so an so,, of here and so and so had told him where i worked and he thought he would pop in and introduce himself!!!!!!
When ppl know who you are or where you work why do the feel the need to inform local ppl that they meet,, do they not have anything else to talk about except others of the site,,
it seems to be the second anyone know who you are the cant help but blabbbb it about to anyone that is listining !!!!!! it also shocks me the amount of ppl that will just show you some one elses facial picture that they have been trusted with at the drop of a hat!!
Well Lucy I hope you confront whoever it was that told that guy, as that is just not on!!!! Discretion is a must when it comes to swinging but unfortunately there is the 'odd' bad egg waiting to spoil the fun for others.

Secondly the asshole in question who thought it was okay to front you in public and embarrass you needs a sharp kick in the balls, to remind him its not nice, its not funny and its not blooming well on.

Totally agree with all the above comments. The guy who called in personally and asked if you were who he was told you were is bad enough, cause for starters, Id never and nobody else should ever acknowledge anyone we meet from here in their workplace or if they were in company in a bar or restaurant etc.
But the person who initially blabbed and told others where you worked, well he deserves the worst. What a complete prick for speaking out of school like that.
Personally it wouldnt bother me if someone recognised me on the street and asked if I was who they thought I was, but if my wife was ever approached by a guy asking if she was from here, well I wont say what I would do to him for fear of being banned, but lets just say he would need a team of specialist surgeons to bring him back to normal.
Sorry to hear that happened to you Lucy, just hope the guy has his VHI payed up, cos if he does it to others, Im sure some lady's husband will eventually catch up with him.
Finally, it's probably a good idea for Admin to make all pics on this site uncopyable (Is that even a word?). Right clicking on pics from here should be disabled, it is on another site, and I'm sure if Admin introduced this setting to the site, a lot more of us would rest a lot better knowing our pics, private or public cant be saved to peoples hard drives.

I feel your pain, it has happened to me and it sucks.
Some people have no tact. I have seen others out and about from the site, but i never would approach them as you never know their situation and what grief you could be landing them in.
Col your suggestion about lifting pics is a good one and i will raise it, but there are other ways around that to be honest. I have private face pics but i am very carefull about who i send them too as you just never know, and some of us have alot to loose if outed in public.

ah i would love if something could be done to stop people saving pictures, as iv had alot of problems with this ( my own fault really i guess for putting so many pics up) but im slowly deleting alot of them now becos iv found people have taken my pics and have used them on other sites pretending to be me :sad: :sad:
Discresion is one of the most important things on this site. If that happened to us i would be more annoyed with the fool that gave out your personal information and would make sure that other people where aware of what type of person they are for everyones protection (Not saying naming and shaming but tactfully giving a reference )

it can't be stopped. I'm on a photography site that has been battling with the same issue, there's simply no way to stop it.
On all Apple Macs for years now and I think now on Windows7 you can just do a screen grab in one click so there's nothing
a website can do.
We had our pics robbed off here a few years ago and someone set up a profile on another site with them and someone elses i think.

bumping this post because yet again tonight ,,i had a whisper teling me that a mutual "friend" had told them who i was and wheer i work and that they gona pop into see me next week ,,,, and as it happens again the same ppl doing it ,,, keep your fooking nose out of my business and if you want to tell the world who you are and where you work and live and god kknwo what else,,, do so ,,but leave my personal life out of it ,, it has been months since i have camed or had a laugh in main chat room for this very reason and tonight the first night i do for so long and i get the same fooking shit !!!!!!!!!!!

I also have been outed from people I really thought should know better and who I really hoped would respect my boundaries when it comes to privacy and who I choose to tell where I'm from and who I choose to meet. Sadly it has affected my enjoyment of the site but I'm a big girl so will not be put off by others smallmindedness and shallowness.
