Advice on Profile and Mail.

Right ladys back after taking a break just need a bit of advice in about sending out mail what would attract you in meeting someone by profile or mail sorry a little bit rusty and trying to find my feet again but dont want to be sending out loads of mail if its going to be ignored what would do you look for.
