Our recent party was originally to be in Cork but got zero interest until we switched location to Dublin, then an avalanche of enquiries lol Haven't been around long enough to have spotted a pattern but maybe people are just used to travelling to Dublin for the big parties? I suppose it depends on who's organising it and what circle of friends they have in the scene. We were at a party last month in Belfast that drew people from all over.

Not alllllll the M&Gs are in Dublin innocent
The answer to your question, though is - The folks who regularly do the organising are often based in or around the Dublin area - simple as! It's a doddle to do an event in your own area, because you know the venues and the local options for accommodation/travel etc But that doesn't stop you running an event anywhere else.
If someone from another area is daft enough to take on the responsibility, M&Gs could be held anywhere there's a suitable venue. And the regular organisers would be more than happy to help anyone who would like to run their own event :whistling:
> > Checking my own diary for last year: Carlow, Dungarvan, Galway, Cavan - and Cork, FirstFriday every month! Oh though! June's was - in Killarney.
Ohhhh and a jaunt to Kilkenny for Babyboo's Night Out, and - Yes we did Dublin too - for Losmag's Get-Together. < <
I'd like to give due credit to Tatts for being brave enough to take on the load of running regular Dublin Events, because they are going to be the busiest - partly due to logistical and demographical reasons - though I just know the smashing folks will make them popular and enjoyable every time too. I gave up adding names to the list of folks who asked me to run Dublin events - but as I said - there's plenty who do that already.
And JoshAndHolly were right - By sheer coincidence, three different organisers ran parties in Belfast the same weekend last month - lovely feckers those Norn Ironers :giggle:
