This is a poem that I wrote for my aunty Ger who passed away at a young age of 39
God said to noah there's gona be a floody woody
God said to naoh there's gona be a floody woody
Get those out of the muddy woody chidren of the Lord
Strolling beside the canal
This is the song we sang
Leading us was your Mum
Oh boy did we have fun
Smiles on our faces
Laughter echoed the air
Happy to be alive with out aunt how didn't have a care
Listening to her tell a story, tears would roll from our eyes
She had qualities that no one could touch
And that is why she was loved so much
Her curly brown hair and gap in her teeth are the memories everyone will keep
Her passion was fashion, colours everywhere
Remember the suade patched jacket she ran everywhere
Poppies vivid in the golden sun
Memories flow back of Ger and Mum
Oh how our summer times were filled with fun
Her children were her life
Even if they caused her strive
She kept them near
Chasing away their childhood fear
As the stars twinkled at night
Ger would be out of sight
Singing and dancing in her favourite bar
Shining like a star
As the leaf fell from the tree
And hit the wet ground
It was then we realised what we had found
A soul filled with cheer
A happy face in sight
It was just too early to say goodnight
"When we live, enjoy the love for some its too late"
Have no idea why some people on this site are so pass remarkable about other posters/threads. There is an old saying - If you have nothing nice to say....say nothing.
