I met my now husband at a meet and greet run by this site last Easter. Not a traditional way of finding a life partner I guess, but sometimes these things just happpen.
Anyway.... we met last Easter, and met again in June. From then we saw each other more or less every weekend, despite living 250 miles apart.
I told my family and friends I met him at a meet and greet run by an internet 'dating' site. Not entirely the truth, but not a million miles off either. My husband told his family and friends we met on a night out in Dublin - again true, but not the full story.
My best friend knows we met on Swing, but I don't know how the rest of our family and friends would feel if they found out. Although I guess it's not something they ever need to know.
Ultimately, we both met 'the one' for us, just perhaps in slightly unusual circumstances.
Neither of us came on the site to end up married, it just happened, but we've never been happier.

I married someone I met on this site, but have to say that if he'd asked me to marry him in a chatroom I'd of been less than impressed. Proposals should be romantic, special and personal, and that wouldn't cut it for me. Would make an interesting story to tell the grandkids in 50 years time... I proposed to your grandad on a swing site.
What's right for one person, isn't for another, and just because it wouldn't be my thing, doesn't mean it wouldn't be someone else's.
If that's what this particular lady feels is right for her and her partner then go for it, and I hope she gets the answer she wants.
