For one thing when people enter a room they may see someone there they have an intrest in chatting to, so they end up staying in that room, i.e. when 'a' comes in they see and want to chat to 'b' who has earlier came in and saw and wanted to chat to 'c' who has.....and on and on. Last night the newbies room was the busiest.
I would suggest a 'lobby' possibly showing a list of who was where, from which chatters would leave for other rooms as soon as possible.
On the subject of unwanted whispering, maybe if there was a 'forward whispers option'. At first I thought of a 'forward to mods' option, but as everyones unwanted whispers would go to the already overstretched mods it would make their life a misery. However if there was a forward to 'unwanted whispers bank' that can be reviewed by Admin and the persistent offenders given one warning before expulsion from the site.
Also there are a few post on here about people 'copy and pasting' every whisper, even simple 'hi there' or whispers made by mistake. I believe there are very few if any such people on here. I have often whispered by mistake and have never been rebuked, I might get a :grin:longjon or a longjon reply.
