deleting forum posts

if i post an ad in the forum ,then when the ad becomes out of date and i want to delete it, i cant, some mods have helped me before ,but had problems finding the ad,,why can we not delete our own ads?
You cant delete your forum posts as people where leaving posts then removing them later making the whole forum difficult to follow sometimes, so this facility was removed some time ago now.
Now if you change a forum post it is logged on it that it has been changed and when it was changed.
